Experience the best of northern Ecuador on this full-day adventure! Visit Otavalo Plaza de Ponchos, one of South America’s largest indigenous markets, where you can shop for colorful handicrafts and practice bargaining with local artisans. Continue to Cotacachi, famous for high-quality leather goods. Board the scenic Ibarra train traveling through picturesque landscapes. This tour combines culture, shopping, adventure, and history in one unforgettable day!

Your adventure begins with a short stop in Guayllabamba, a charming town famous for its local fruits. We continue the journey through the Andes, we will visit "the biscuit town" and we'll be making a stop at Mira Lago viewpoint where you can admire breathtaking landscapes os San Pablo Lagoon and take great photos.

 

Next, we arrive at the famous Otavalo “Plaza de Ponchos”, one of the largest indigenous markets in South America. Here you will have free time to explore, shop for handicrafts, and practice your bargaining skills with the local artisans.

 

In the afternoon, we head to Cotacachi, a town renowned for its fine leather goods. This is also the perfect spot to enjoy lunch on your own at one of the local restaurants.

 

Afterwards, the highlight of the day awaits: a scenic train ride from Ibarra to Andrade Marín Station, a journey that showcases beautiful Andean landscapes. To complete the experience, we will visit the historic Textile Factory Museum, where you will discover the fascinating story of Ecuador’s textile development and the important role of labor unions in the country’s history.

 

At the end of the day, we return to Quito with unforgettable memories of culture, crafts, and landscapes.
